On March 11, the General Assembly of the National Association of Fertilizer Manufacturers (ANFFE) appointed José Ignacio García Gómez, former vice president of ANFFE and general manager of Mirat Fertilizantes, one of the oldest companies in the sector and the first to manufacture granulated complex fertilizers in Spain, as its new president. His extensive experience in the fertilizer industry, innovative management and vision, and his commitment to the Association were key to his unanimous election.
He will replace Javier Goñi del Cacho, board member, president, and CEO of Grupo Fertiberia, who has held the presidency of ANFFE since 2014. This change follows the announcement that Javier Goñi del Cacho will leave his position at Grupo Fertiberia on March 31 to take on a new professional challenge.
The Vice President of ANFFE will be Javier González Paloma, Director of Agronomic Innovation at Grupo Fertiberia and with extensive experience in the agricultural sector, succeeding José Ignacio García.
The new leadership will be essential to consolidating the Association's mission and promoting its renewal and development. Currently, ANFFE members represent approximately 70 percent of total national fertilizer sales and almost 80 percent of exports from Spain. They also provide more than 4,800 direct jobs.
